Nana has received her prize! I am so thrilled to show you how her case turned out.
Below you'll see photos of all the steps we took to create her case and at the end you'll have a chance to get your own!

My custom illustration process step by step (with pictures):

Step 1: You send me the image or the color scheme you'd like me to use as inspiration for your illustration. Nana sent a picture of her sister since she was going to give it to her as a gift.

Step 2: I send you a couple rough sketches to give you an idea of what the final illustration will look like. You either choose your favorite sketch (if I create more than one) or request changes and I send you an updated sketch shortly after that and this step repeats until you are 100% satisfied.

Step 3: COLOR! My personal favorite step is adding color to your illustration because I love seeing it come to life. I worked with a fall color palette for the leaves that would surround the drawing of Yaa, Nana's sister. Which is where the "why-aye-aye" comes from in the drawing. It is her sister's Instagram name which she wanted incorporated in the drawing and I love how it turned out.

We worked with a variety of options for Nana's case. From full color, to black and white, to "option 2" above. A drawing with transparency. We decided it would make the clear case look great, unique and different. The color of her iPhone would show through the areas of the drawing that we left white (transparent when it prints).

Step 4: This step is a little different with every custom order. For Nana, this step included getting a peak at what the case would look like on an iPhone. I sent her a few mockups of what the different illustrations looked like as a case and she absolutely loved the transparent option.  Take a look at the photos below for an up close look at her case.
